Mid-Pac 2009 will be an exciting and memorable year! For the first time the Steel Bridge, Concrete Canoe, and Water Treatment From the Kitchen and Beyond competitions will be hosted at the same conference. The conference is scheduled for April 16-18th, 2009 and is being hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno.  A team of 4 dedicated student leaders and 7 alumni are organizing this conference.  It is their goal to have the most memorable conference in recent history.

The Mid-Pac Committee has made it their goal this year to have a very smooth and memorable event. In order to achieve the goals, the committee has focused on food, venues, and Public Relations more than in Prior years. This year all of the meals will be provided by catering rather than by students who are cooking. Also, the bridge competition will go on in a stadium setting in order to provide public viewing and ideal conditions for the competition. All events on campus have been carfully organized so that they are within walking distance of each other. Last, but not least, the commitee has a PR representative that is focusing on making the public aware of the events and inviting them out to them. Hopefulluy, all of this will make for an awesome event!

For those who have never been to Reno, there are a lot of things to see and do. We encourage all of you to spend some of your free time checking out our area. Check out this website: http://www.reno.com/section/THINGSTODO if you need some ideas. We also recommend staying over Saturday night so that you might have some more time to explore on Sunday. Reno has several exciting bars and nightclubs, world class skiing and snowboarding, casinos, a spectacular art museum, a downtown river walk, a large auto museum, and we are 30 minutes away from beautiful Lake Tahoe!
